Nominees wanted! Who will be the worthy winner of the 4th Simmet Prize for Assisted Reproduction? Mintube is proud to announce the sponsoring of the prize, which will be presented at the 20th International Congress of Animal Reproduction, June 28-July 2, 2020 in Bologna, Italy.
The award was established as a memorial to the accomplishments of Dr. Ludwig Simmet, a pioneer in development of artificial insemination in farm animals and founder of Minitube. It recognizes an active research scientist for outstanding basic and applied research published during the previous six years in the area of assisted reproductive technologies for animal production systems. The prize, which is the most prestigious award in animal reproduction and the largest of its kind, comes with a 50,000 euro-honorarium and is presented every four years at the ICAR meeting. Previous awardees were Cesare Galli (2008), John Aitken (2012) and Katrin Hinrichs (2016).
Nominations for the next Simmet Prize can be submitted until September 1, 2019. Scientists at all phases of their career will be considered; important is the depth, breadth and impact of the research program. For more information on the award criteria and the nomination process, please visit the ICAR website or contact Dr. Peter J Hansen (firstname.lastname@example.org), Chair of the Award Committee.
