A generation change at system supplier for animal reproductive technology: After 30 years, the company’s commercial manager, Florian Simmet, hands over the baton to his niece, Katharina Rohrmüller, née Simmet. This move marks the beginning of the third generation entering into the management of the family-run business Minitüb GmbH.
Ms. Rohrmüller is however not new to the company. Since 2012, she has been employed at Minitüb taking an active part in shaping the future of the company. Florian Simmet announced his retirement plans already last year, so this change in management comes as no surprise. Of his replacement, he says: “I could not imagine anyone more qualified for this job”. Ms. Rohrmüller sees her new position as a great opportunity: “I feel fortified and supported by the staff”. After receiving intensive training for her new position, she now heads the human resources, finance and administration departments of the company, which has developed from a small patent-smith operation to a worldwide leading supplier of specialized systems for assisted reproduction in animal breeding.
Florian Simmet has been a key driving force in this development ever since 1987 when he joined the company, founded by his father, as customer consultant. He later entered into management together with his brothers Christian and Rudolf as well as Christa Simmet, his sister-in-law. Florian Simmet will continue to play a leading role in the company as a member of the supervisory board of Minitube International AG.
