CoolSperm – Joint project started

The joint project “CoolSperm” started in December 2021. The aim of this project is the practical transfer of an innovative concept for the cold preservation of boar semen. This enables the reduction of antibiotics in the preservation medium and optimizes the transport logistics of the semen from boar studs to sow farms. The environmental impact of antibiotics is reduced and possibilities for efficient use of boar semen are tested in practice. The CoolSperm project particularly promotes sustainability and efficiency of future-oriented pig breeding.
