Awarded most family-friendly: Minitüb among top 20 companies in Bavaria
A family-conscious HR policy has become a decisive factor for success. The "Successful.Family-Friendly" competition recognizes the engagement for the compatibility of work and family and honors the 20 most family-friendly companies in Bavaria every two years. Minitüb GmbH has won the seal for the second time after 2018 and is thus once again the most family-friendly company in Lower Bavaria.
From 236 applicants, a jury consisting of representatives from government ministries, academia, foundations, and Bavarian industry, has selected the final 20 winners, among them, as the only Lower Bavarian company, Minitüb GmbH.
On Thursday, Bavaria's Minister of Labor and Family Affairs Ulrike Scharf and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Roland Weigert honored the competition winners at a festive evening event. Accompanied by District Administrator Peter Dreier, CFO Katharina Rohrmüller and HR Officer Heike Adler accepted the award for Minitüb.
When Ludwig and Irmingard Simmet founded the company Minitüb in 1970 as a system supplier for assisted reproduction in animals, they themselves were the parents of four small children. The compatibility of family and career as an integral part of the corporate culture has not changed since then: Currently, 52 different working time models are offered and lived. Thus, every wish of the 145 employees for part-time and flexible working hours is realized. In emergency situations, such as childcare or caring for relatives, it goes without saying that employees are relieved of their workload - whether through overtime reductions, or reduced hours. If children are brought to the workplace, colleagues sometimes help with childcare. There is open communication between employees and supervisors, and everyone pays personal attention to their work-life balance, managers, and employees alike. Thanks to the practiced compatibility of family and career, fluctuation in the company is low: employees are happy to stay with the company for a long time.
Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Roland Weigert stated during the award ceremony: "The award winners are outstanding role models for family-friendly corporate policy and at the same time an incentive for other companies to take appropriate measures. Our message is that business success and family friendliness are two sides of the same coin. Not least in view of the tough competition for qualified skilled workers, family friendliness in practice is becoming increasingly important."
Labor and Family Minister Ulrike Scharf also emphasized: "Our award winners are true ambassadors for family friendliness. They address the needs of employees individually and in a variety of ways, regardless of industry or company size! This strategy is a benefit for the entire company!"
The delegation from Minitüb GmbH was delighted to win the award as recognition of its efforts to create a family-friendly working environment as a living component of its corporate strategy.
The "Successful.Family-Friendly" company competition, an initiative within the framework of the Bavarian Family Pact, was held for the first time in 2016 by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy together with the Bavarian State Ministry for Family Affairs, Labor, and Social Affairs.
