Exciting insights into the world of reproductive technology

On this year's Girls' Day, 12 schoolgirls from the Landshut area immersed themselves in the fascinating world of reproductive technology. At the Minitube headquarters in Tiefenbach, they took a look behind the scenes of the global technology leader in the field of assisted reproduction in animals and reproductive medicine.

During a guided tour of the company, the students experienced first-hand how cutting-edge technology and scientific innovation come together. They learned about the steps required to develop and distribute high-tech equipment, specialized software and consumables for assisted reproduction worldwide. It quickly became clear that experts from many different fields work hand in hand.

In the practical part, the students were able to get active themselves. They analyzed cell samples under the microscope and learned how to digitally process the analysis data. They dealt with questions such as: How does a microscope work? How do images and data get from the slide to the computer? And what happens to the information?

Another highlight of the day was soldering their own small electronic circuit. This gave the girls an insight into the work of a mechatronics engineer and an opportunity to demonstrate their manual skills. There was great excitement when the circuits they had soldered worked!

The participants left Minitube with many new impressions and perhaps even some ideas for their own future. We are proud to support young talent and look forward to seeing some of them again soon, perhaps as apprentices or interns.

Girls' Day is a nationwide event in Germany that encourages girls to explore new and exciting careers. It offers schoolgirls in grades 5 to 10 the opportunity to gain practical experience in innovative companies and make their first contacts in the world of work.
