Minitube recognized as Biodiversity-Friendly Business
Bavarian Ministry of the environment honors our commitment to biodiversity and insect conservation
Minitube can now officially call itself a “Blühender Betrieb” (Biodiversity-Friendly Business), a business committed to promoting biodiversity. On July 14, 2026, Bavarian Environment Minister Thorsten Glauber presented the award to our company, along with twelve other businesses and organizations, during a ceremony in Munich.
Representatives of Minitube accepted the certificate and official plaque on behalf of the entire company. The state award, presented as part of the Blühpakt Bayern initiative, recognizes businesses that design their outdoor areas in a nature-friendly way, creating valuable habitats for insects, birds, and other native wildlife.
Over the past few years, numerous insect-friendly areas have been created at our company site in Tiefenbach. Native wild perennials, herbs, flower bulbs, and fruit trees contribute to biodiversity, alongside nutrient-poor grasslands, species-rich wildflower meadows, and natural hedges.
These habitats are complemented by an insect hotel and a sand habitat created together with our employees. Both are already being used by wild bees and sand lizards.
An educational nature trail with eleven information boards, quiz questions, and QR codes also provides information about native species and ecological relationships. The nature-friendly development of our grounds is an ongoing process, with additional habitats such as deadwood areas and water sources already being planned.
We are especially proud of this recognition: Minitube is now one of only 128 businesses in Bavaria to have received the “Blühender Betrieb” award. Only twelve businesses in Lower Bavaria currently hold this distinction, making us a pioneer in this area.
The award reinforces our commitment to combining business success with responsibility for nature and the environment.
