Minitube Symposium celebrated 50 years of swine AI in Brazil
On May 13th, during the Sinsui Congress in Porto Alegre, the Minitube Satellite Symposium on Swine Reproduction brought together leading experts in the field to discuss the challenges of hyperprolific sows and to celebrate a major milestone: 50 years of artificial insemination (AI) in swine in Brazil. It was a remarkable day filled with insights, collaboration, and well-deserved recognition of the progress in our industry. Rich discussions and valuable networking made this event truly memorable.

A highlight of the symposium was the emotional tribute to the pioneers who laid the groundwork for five decades of progress in swine artificial insemination. These professionals were recognized for their vision, innovation, and enduring contributions to the industry.
We proudly honored:
Alexandre Marchetti, Managing Director of Minitub do Brasil, and Christian Simmet, CEO of Minitube International, presented each of the present pioneers with a plaque of honor. Werner Meincke concluded the celebration with an interesting presentation in which he shared anecdotes from the early days of the first two boar centers and showed the huge steps the industry has taken in the last 50 years. The audience honored the group of early leaders with well-deserved applause.
