Minitube Porcine TechDays 2026

Pushing the reproductive limits

On June 9 and 10, Minitube's new headquarters became a global meeting point for innovation and knowledge exchange during the Minitube Porcine TechDays 2026. Bringing together 80 international participants on-site and many more online, the event demonstrated how scientific knowledge, practical experience, and technological innovation are continuously pushing the reproductive limits of modern pig production.

Day 1: Knowledge without borders

The first day featured presentations from renowned experts covering key topics in modern pig reproduction.
Prof. Fernando Bortolozzo (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) opened the program with insights into the physiological and management implications of highly prolific sows. Rodrigo Morales (Minitube México) shared valuable quality control and benchmarking data from a reference laboratory. Addressing the realities of large-scale operations, Rodrigo Moreira (Pilgrims Europe, Brazil) discussed the logistical challenges of managing boar studs across one of the world's largest countries. Prof. Dr. Dagmar Waberski (University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany) presented the latest developments in 5°C storage of boar semen and outlined the current state of the art in this promising field. Peter Berkvens MSc (Topigs Norsvin, The Netherlands) concluded the scientific program with a forward-looking presentation on developing a global semen supply chain.
The presentations sparked lively discussions and valuable exchanges among participants. The day ended with an evening of Bavarian hospitality, providing an ideal setting for networking and further conversations.

Day 2: Innovation in action

The second day focused on hands-on workshops covering topics like precise sperm concentration measurement with Minitube CASA systems, innovations in semen analysis, and standard operating procedures for contamination-free boar semen production.
A highlight of the workshops was the opportunity to experience Minitube technologies firsthand. Attendees interacted with the Prism10 laboratory management software, observed the powerful AndroVision® eFlow CASA system in action, and discovered filling machines like ePacker and QT-Packer and laboratory devices designed to improve efficiency, quality, and traceability in boar semen production.

Pushing the limits together

From scientific insights to practical solutions, the Minitube Porcine TechDays 2026 demonstrated how innovation, collaboration, and expertise continue to push the reproductive limits of modern pig production.

Minitube would like to thank all speakers, participants, and online attendees for making this event such a success. More than a platform for presenting new technologies, TechDays once again proved to be a meeting point for exchanging ideas, challenging existing boundaries, and shaping the future of pig reproduction.
