Successful debut of Minitube TechDays in China
Already an established tradition in other countries, TechDays made its long-awaited debut in China with great success, attracting key players from across the Chinese pig breeding industry. Renowned companies such as SciGene, Shiyang, Yongcheng, Jingwang, Dekon, CP, Tangrenshen, Zhengneng, PIC, and Juxing joined the two-day event, which was packed with expert insights, technical innovations, hands-on training, and meaningful exchanges.
After a warm welcome address, Dr. Shen Tao, Senior Technical Consultant at Minitube China, opened the event with an introduction to the history and current developments of Minitube China. Mr. Jiang Bo, Account Manager, showcased Minitube’s latest innovations, while Mr. Vance Brown, ART Expert from Minitube USA, offered a global perspective with his presentations on “Modern Boar Stations in the US” and “Semen Quality Control and Third-Party Testing.”
Adding to the global expertise, Dr. Rudolf Grossfeld, Product Manager from Minitube Germany, presented on “Sustainable Use of Antibiotics and Hygiene in Boar Semen Production,” a topic of growing importance in the industry. A special highlight was the guest lecture from Mr. Fan Hailong from PIC, who shared his hands-on experience in boar training.
Day one concluded with a deep dive into “Semen Bag Toxicity and Its Impact on Semen Quality,” led by Dr. Shen Tao, accompanied by extensive data and real world examples. Throughout the day, participants engaged in lively discussions and exchanged valuable experiences.
The second day shifted to Minitube China’s Beijing office, where attendees explored two showrooms showcasing Minitube’s product lineup. Guests had the opportunity to interact with devices firsthand, including the popular insemination training model Suzy and collection training model Bobby. These lifelike training tools, designed for safe and repeated practice, drew significant interest and praise from the participants.
Attendees were also impressed by the high-speed performance of the QT-Packer and the AndroScope, a compact yet powerful portable CASA system. The event also featured the unveiling of Prism10, Minitube’s latest lab management software, introduced by Mr. Brown and Dr. Shen — further demonstrating Minitube’s leadership in innovation and digital solutions for assisted reproduction.
TechDays concluded with a memorable visit to the Great Wall of China, where attendees celebrated their shared success amidst the iconic scenery of green mountains and historic stone paths — a fitting end to a vibrant and collaborative event.
Minitube China would like to thank all attendees for their enthusiastic participation and trust. The success of this first TechDays in China reflects the strength of the swine breeding community and the shared commitment to advancing reproductive technologies.
We look forward to seeing you again at future TechDays!
